Review of Lakeview Terrace (2008) by Kunal S — 13 Dec 2011
This movie worked in an "I want to see Samuel L. Jackson's character get his comeuppance" sort of way. Otherwise, the evil neighbor storyline in many ways felt like something out of a made for TV movie.
Performances were fine and the resolution is both satisfying and built to appropriately. However, while the story maintains a good deal of suspense and thrills, the racial divide that largely fuels Jackson's behavior was overplayed and over the top in what I felt would have worked better as a basic thriller.
Worth a rent.
