Review of Lake Tahoe (2008) by Ryan C — 26 Oct 2009
A fine example of what can be achieved in film-making with hardly a budget in place. What is essentially a coming-of-age movie, the film takes place in what will become an important day for the young Juan.
Director Fernando Eimbcke delivers a a movie that develops into a very personal piece the longer it runs. What starts a beautifully choreographed, yet slow and rather bizarre premise spirals into a movie dealing with the complexities of a young life and events that will shape an impending adulthood.
A fine movie and a director with great promise.
