Review of Lake Placid (1999) by Giovanni T — 03 Jan 2013
As a kid, this was one of my favorite films. The idea is a good one, but being older and seeing this movie again, I was able to point out its obvious faults. The cast is so horrendously casted, the dialogue, script, interpretation of lines- almost everything could have been done better.
Betty White's character stands out, but its a sub par part simply because of bad script writing. Personally knowing crocodile anatomy a bit, there were several different model heads and bodies used during close-ups.
To the normal eye it might seem the same, but that bothered me. The CG was not terrible, but could have been better. I hate to give a movie I adored as a child such a mediocre rating, but after all, it's a mediocre film.
