Such an odd movie. Directed by B Movie Slasher Guru Steve Miner (Halloween H20, Warlock, House, Friday the 13th Parts II and III) and written by genius screenwriting lawyer David E. Kelley (Picket Fences, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal!) Lake Placid never quite does what you think itâ??s going to do.
The film is too goofy and oddball to just be a JAWS ripoff. Scenes like Betty Whiteâ??s confession and Oliver Plattâ??s monster staring contest come to mind and Bill Pullman is such a wonderfully strange leading man! VF.
