Review of Lake Placid (1999) by Deb S — 16 May 2010
A man is half eaten by something and a team of researchers and police are off to a lake in Maine to investigate. Their curiosity leads them to a 30 foot crocodile that wants to be left alone. Bill Pullman plays `Jack Wells' a game warden that comes to town to investigate the first killing.
Bridget Fonda plays `Kelly Scott' who is a paleontologist from New York that comes to scrutinize the strange looking fang that had been dug out of the carcass of the "beaver" diver. The best lines went to Oliver Platt, playing Hector, who is a rich snob that goes around the world just to swim with alligators whilst Betty White plays a variation of her usual comedic character and provides an amusing twist for the final scene.
