Review of Lake Placid (1999) by Kimberly S — 03 Nov 2009

This movie is by no means a masterpiece, and it obviously isn't trying to be one. What it is trying to be is a funny monster flick. That's where it fails though. The movie features brain-dead characters, inane dialogue, and a pedestrian plot to boot, and none of it is very funny.

The gore is about the only fun thing to watch in this entire movie. Still, if you can get through the bad acting, the movie has a certain charm to it. If you like giant alligators, or crocodiles, then you should give this movie a look.
