Review of Lake of Fire (2006) by Roger B — 03 Jun 2008
A stately examination of the issue of abortion in the USA during the last two decades. the perspectives of academics (bioethicists, doctors, etc)., pro-life christians, christian terrorists and women's rights activists are represented. the pace of the film was a little slow but the issue certainly deserves a sober treatment.
The religious angle dominates the discussion - understandable given their escalation of the use of violent methods and its apparent success. more attention could have been paid to the change in the control of "the womb" due to the women's rights movement over the last few decades. this power struggle seems to be the underlying issue.
