Review of Lake Mungo (2009) by Luke M — 25 Sep 2012
I definitely thought it was a amazingly constructed documentary. And given no background information on it being a mockumentary they could definitely pass if off as being real. The acting was truly great.
Why are people comparing this to The Blair Witch Project? To me I don't see much of a resemblance. And, what is the problem with having a movie that may have a similar story / purpose? Last time I checked there's 100's of movie's about crazy serial killers killing people off.
Yet, you don't complain about that. It's not scary, nor should it be classified as a horror movie but it is genuinely creepy. I loved that fact that the twists in the movie came at the right time.
When you thought the movie had no where else to go, these little twists come into play and completely change the movie. It's well done, superbly acted and I love it. Fuck the haters. If you thought this was boring, go watch Die Hard or something with a little more "Action".
