Review of Laggies (2014) by Eric H — 17 Jan 2015
Another film focusing on the standard quarter life crisis some folks have in their late 20's, Keira Knightly hits hers hard when all of her high school friends start marrying off and start having families of their own whereas she is still stuck in her vagabond, not quite found herself mode with her long time boyfriend wanting to take the next step.
Before we know it she runs away from the group to take hiding with a newly made buddy in Chloe Moretz who is trying to make sense of things herself in the home stretch of high school which Knightly finds some sense of comfort in and sense and an unlikely friendship begins.
Pretty standard stuff although the girls are perfectly matched together persona wise and Knightly is a delight playing off of Rockwell's sarcastic charms. A safe coming of age pics of sorts thats enjoyable for what it is but shouldnt be taken for more than that.
