Review of Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) by Jody S — 21 Jun 2007
I had to watch this movie for my poli sci class where we were talking about conflicts throughout history... this movie was coupled with the entire separation of India and Pakistan and all the violence that followed.
.. as I enjoyed the second, which is called "Earth" if you're interested, though it was very disturbing... the reason we watched this film was to gain persective on the relationship between the British and the Indian people.
.. yet, this movie was really boring... nothing about it was interesting and it just went on and on and on... there was one particular song about the drought that just wouldn't end... in fact, the movie was so long, we weren't able to even get to the half way mark after two hours! We had to fast froward to the end to see who won the damn competition, and of the course the outcome was predictable.
.. Ugghh... this just sucked!
