Lagaan is the Shawshank Redemption of India. It is a movie which has changed the face of cinema in India. Arguably the best Indian movie ever.
The credit goes to Ashutosh Gowarikar and Aamir Khan. The story is brilliant. And while Ashutosh has written and directed a brilliant script, Aamir Khans leads the grace. Not to forget the historical performance by him. The supporting cast is very good. And the background music is stunning.
As I said, probably the best indian movie ever made.
