Review of Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) by Dan D — 23 Nov 2007
This is a fantastic transnational film, and the best of the "Once Upon a Time" type of films. There is an episode of Samurai Champloo that has a similar conceit concerning baseball and America (the Asians beat the westerners at their own game in the late 1800s) .
.. both are excellent in their own way.
