Review of Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) by Sourabh S — 14 Jan 2008
Hackneyed plot, unnecessarily long and really no central theme. It's just one long saga with too many emotional strings. And when would you come across a tax collector who'd gamble a year's tax on a cricket match? Come on, let's have at least a tinge of reality! Aamir Khan shines, but I guess the movie was made to ride the cricket frenzy wave of the country.
And it did, big time.
