Review of Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) by Mary B — 14 Sep 2007
Once again, got this DVD from a colleague.
But surprisingly, this is a very good Indian Bollywood movie! There is a good plot and examines several issues even in modern India - farmers' woes, need for religious harmony, caste discrimination. Not too much of song and dance, silly antics/jokes... just a right mix of humour and realism.
Long movie, but worth every minute.
