Review of Ladybugs (1992) by Shira P — 16 Nov 2007
A salesamen (Rodeny Dangerfield) attempts to get a promotion by coaching his company's soccer team. The Ladybugs stink so Chester enlists the help of his fiance's son, Matthew (Jonathon Brandis) to dress like a girl named Martha and play on the Ladybugs.
Other notable characters are Jackee as Chester's Assistant Coach, and Vinessa Shaw as Matthew's love interest. The plot is not only unique but offers a variety of rational, irrational, and comedic perspectives.
The cast is composed of extremely talented and gifted actors: Rodney Dangerfield, Jackee, Jonathon Brandis, Vinessa Shaw, and so forth. All the cast have awesome chemistry on the screen, both verbal and physical.
The dialogue is hilarious especially when it involves Jackee and Rodney Dangerfield. Granted this may seem like a really dumb soccer movie, this is probably one of Rodney Dangerfield's best movies.
I strongly recommend seeing it!
