Review of Lady Vengeance (2005) by Christine A — 16 Feb 2009
An excellent, thought-provoking revenge film that is finely directed by Chan-wook Park. Along with an interesting plot, Lady Vengeance has great symbolism through its cinematography and direction. Yeong-ae Lee gives an emotional, yet chilling perfomance as Geum-ja.
This film, I feel, almost matches the brilliance of its predecessor, Oldboy. Both are rightfully violent, wrought with emotion, and interestingly odd at times.
