Review of Lady Vengeance (2005) by Saharat S — 23 Oct 2009
This was a close one out of the three from the revenge trilogy. I still stand by Oldboy being the best. They were both good, but Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance beats out this film, but only by a little bit.
I will admit it has a really demented and horrible revenge plot by Yeong-ae Lee's character. She goes all out almost making herself a fictional character you would see in a comic book. She had the costume, the make-up and the really interesting gun that you had to get up close and personal with to fire it.
There is a lot of back story for all the small characters in this film and at some points it is hard to follow, but will still keep you interested. This was not a bad end to the revenge trilogy at all.
All three movies showed crazy horrible revenge scenes and that is what Park Chan-wook wanted.
