Review of Lady Vengeance (2005) by Clara V — 20 Jan 2013
I really enjoyed "old boy" so was interested in seeing how other installments of the "vengeance" trilogy played out. This one is still quite violent and morally grey in places but not nearly as twisted and disturbing as "old boy".
The director is incredibly skilled at framing sequences and brings a style that exudes "cool" in a way that Tarrantino does. Speaking of Tarrantino there are a surprising amount of parallels with "Kill Bill" and not just in the cover.
The film is occasionally surreal with a weird fairy-tale factor in places and it took a while for me to realise exactly what was happening due to the switches in time. The film is still very entertaining with some well-introduced characters portrayed well across the board.
