Review of Lady Macbeth (2016) by Ryan R — 21 Jul 2017
A dark movie that seems to feed upon itself. While the acting and set is superb, the plot itself is weak. Labeling this as a feminist piece also seems insulting as the lead character, Catherine, (who is amazingly acted) destroys everything in her wake, including the other female characters.
Lady Macbeth is a passable character study of a young, vibrant 19th century noble woman turned emotionless but society.
