Review of Lady in the Water (2006) by Phillip D — 27 Feb 2015
I won't argue with the oddity of this movie, which feels downright uncomfortable at times. However, Lady in the Water stands out because of the bold, fantasy driven premise. It falters near the end but the philosophically minded, well set concept powered by a really excellent performance from Giamatti actually works fairly well.
Although I would never call Lady in the Water a good movie, I think it works much better than most of Shyamalan's films and shows more ambition and creativity then either of his two major hits.
