This movie tries too much and fails in almost every aspect. Paul Giamatti and Bryce Dallas Howard give remarkable and astonishing performances. by the way it is Chilling, thrilling and unforgettable. but Viewers may see religious implications in the movie, with its messianic mermaid and chlorinated holy water, but it really isn't worthy of such deep analysis.
