Review of Lady for a Day (1933) by Marla — 16 Jul 2008
A heart-warming story about a woman who sacrifices everything to send her daughter to Spain. During this time she leads her daughter to believe she is a big mover and shaker in New York City when in actuallity she sells apples in the streets of New York.
Lets just say things take a comedic, Capraesque turn of events. A satisfying film. Capra remade this film in 1961 with Bette Davis in the Lead. While I think the remake is very good, I much prefer the original.
