Lady Bird, Greta Gerwig's solo directoral debut, presents a complex coming of age story that is important viewing for its emotional beats and mother-daughter relationship. Saoirse Ronan is fantastic as Lady Bird and the surrounding cast hold their own.
Lady Bird does suffer slightly from a jumpy narrative at times but it is a nearly flawless coming of age film.
