Review of Lady Bird (2017) by John A — 27 Dec 2017
Scanning the reviews, this one seems to be a "love it or hate it" movie (obviously with a solid majority swinging to the love side). I didn't hate it, but I left the theater thinking the trailer as better than the movie. Performances were pretty impressive- especially Laurie Metcalf (who I always love), Saoirse Ronan (who's name I love), and Tracy Letts (who played dad with an exquisite undertone.
I didn't find the title character appealing, though. In fact, I thought she was kind of a twit. And there were way too many warmed-over coming of age themes for my taste.
There's an 83% chance that you'll disagree though.
