Review of Lady Bird (2017) by Edmund R — 08 Jan 2018
Until now Greta Gerwig was famous from her indie roles such as Frances Ha, Mistress America but from this point on she will be known as a person who has written and directed Lady Bird. First of all, if you know Greta's body of work, she has always gone for the real stories, real people and real emotions. Lady Bird is the jewel on her crown. This is very personal story and you can feel this story is true to her real life. In a way this is an autobiographical story about her coming of age through experiences and self discovery and accepting herself and her surroundings . Greta takes us for a trip through her life, in a time where she was clueless who she was, what she will be and how will her life turn out. In a way her way of self-discovery becomes inspiration for our own life. Lady bird is first of all amazing story of life, constant search for happiness and finding a better version of ourselves. It will make you think about yourself, your family, your journey and for sure it will put a smile on your face.
We all see a lot of movies in one year, this one is the golden one which you should see. And for me this is the one that needs to have golden Oscar at the end of the year. Go see it, best movie of 2017 - 5/5 stars.
