Lady Bird's brilliance isn't easily accessible. It's so balanced and nuanced that I had to reflect upon what I had seen, read reviews to grasp the magnitude of the achievement. Thinking about what other movies in a similar genre didnt come close to achieving that Lady Bird accomplishes with effortless panache.
Except for the performance of Laurie Metcalf (am I missing an e?). You'd have to be deaf, dumb & blind to miss such a sterling genius.
