Review of Lady Bird (2017) by Allcaps — 16 Feb 2018
A very good mother-daughter coming of age love story. It feels done before though. We see Lady Bird's first boyfriend, the first time she has sex, the first time she smokes weed, her giving up on her best friend to be popular, her getting her driver's license, her first college party, etc.
It's all done seamlessly and shot perfectly in a way that the characters really do come alive. Unfortunately, I just feel like I've seen this story many times before, although usually through the eyes of a male character.
