Review of Lady Bird (2017) by Davey K — 26 Jan 2018
Lady Bird is a wink toward Virginia Woolf's book length essay A Room of One's Own in the ways that film, like literature, is a tradition dominated by men. Women need more room behind the camera and this film is a perfect example why.
This is a wonderful coming-of-age film with actors that look and feel a bit more realistic than usual. Maybe you'll cry, you'll probably laugh.
