Review of Ladies in Lavender (2004) by Gayebelle S — 25 May 2007
I watched this again the other night, and had forgotten just what an endearing little film it is. It is a truly gentle tale of two eldery sisters who find a young foreigner washed up on their beach in pre-WWII England, and nurse him back to health.
If nothing else, it's worth watching just to see Maggie Smith and Judi Dench work...and for it's gorgeous musical score by Nigel Hess, featuring Joshua Bell on the violin.
