Review of Ladies in Lavender (2004) by Dai V — 01 May 2008
It's a big pleasure to see the two Dames together. They have a power to capture every frame they're in. Daniel's performance is just OK...
A film full with peace and harmony. Actually, I prefer the original ending in William Locke's story.
5 stars only for very beautiful soundtracks from Nigel Hess.
"The title, a play on words of the phrase Lace in Lavender, refers to the custom of sprinkling dried lavender among clothing packed in storage to keep it smelling fresh." Watch the film and you'll maybe know why..
