Review of Labyrinth (2012) by Chihoe H — 20 Jun 2011
A campier version but a less superior children's fantasy film to one of my childhood favourites, "The NeverEnding Story", there was no denying the influence of the 80s on the amusing costumes and songs in "Labyrinth".
While the visual effects were ludicrously poor even for its time, it was the imaginative set designs, the use of some ornate puppetry, some hands-on filming approaches, a young Jennifer Connelly, and yes to an extent, David Bowie, who truly brought the story to life.
Its appeal and cult status is understandably deserving.
