Review of Labyrinth (2012) by Kris S — 25 Aug 2012
Magic of the 80's.
But certainly not among the best of it's era.
David Bowie singing and dancing in his tight tights as the Goblin King is way corny. The acting is a bit clumsy. And the story is nothing special.
What IS special though is Jim Henson's craftmanship. The puppets, the set and props are pure magic.
As an adult I give it a three.
But for the children, as for myself had I seen this as a child, this is I guess a five-star. For children don't concentrate on silly things like acting, directing, script, cinematography and such. They just feel the magic.
