I'll just get it out of the way: Jennifer Connelly was a terrible actress. I don't know if she's improved. Regardless, the visual inventiveness and the sheer concept of the film triumph over some of her acting issues.
The nonstop barrage of creativity is something rarely found in films anymore. And yes, the songs are awesome.
