The movie was released at an awkward time and largely, although the performances are strong - especially in the leads, it is rather forgettable. Released in early 2014, it scraped a nomination for Best Actress (Drama) for Winslet but entirely missed out on awards season and Oscar buzz, which is a shame, because it did have the potential to have been a good contender this year - not in terms of its plot, as it is a rather slow-moving story, and at times, rather boring, but its performances are noteworthy.
