Review of Labor Day (2013) by Alan W — 15 Oct 2013
If, like me, you go in thinking you are watching a thriller, you will, probably, like me, think the criminal holding the family hostage the most unlikely and unthreatening guy in the world. Where's the tension? Where's the 'thrills'? But about almost an hour in, the realisation that this is actually a love story creeps in and in fact, there is a slow build to a climactic finish worthy of any thriller.
A solid film, classily directed, but can feel a bit conventional and Sunday afternoon on ITV.
