Poor Jason Reitman.
I really loved Labor Day when I first saw it, but the effect kind of diminishes when you realize how sappy it kind of is. Now, I'm a total suck, so I don't mind a sappy little drama every once and a while, provided that it's well made. I think Labor Day is well made. It's a nice exploration of growing up, falling in love and overcoming personal pains. Is it melodramatic? Yes, but I guess don't mind so much.
