Review of Labor Day (2013) by Domenic D — 01 Jun 2014
The film has an almost silent movie tone, old-ish kind of look and feel. Fear of the unknown seem to posses both sides, boundaries were very blurred. The revelation was that in the process both sides took chances to trust the other and seemed to paid off.
Whilst it makes for an unusual experience, I struggled to come to terms with the unfolding of the story in terms of how one could get hold of two other people against their will in an apparently.
Easy development. There came a point when the pair willingly joined paths with their uninvited guest but until that point, I was challenged with the ease at which he took over them.
Still, it conveys plenty of emotion and makes for a thoughtful viewing. 6/10.
