Review of La Vie en Rose (2007) by Elizabeth N — 08 Jan 2010
Beautifully done, the acting, the scenery, the costumes - all were just perfect. The film transports you into the world of Edith Piaf and you get to connect to her tragic and engaging life brilliantly. My only criticism would be that the narrative kept jumping too much between different parts of her life. Although I love the symblosim of it being her trying to remember her life as she was dying (which is discussed in one of the final scenes of the film) you had to focus very intentally to get the time line right.
A film I highly recommend movie lovers watch, although it might not be to everyone's style.
