Review of La Terra Trema (1949) by Paul J — 04 Oct 2010
Quintessential Italian neo-realism. Visconti got his hands dirty by focusing his camera on average fishermen. The drama is beautifully moving. It unfolds amidst the everyday lives that seemingly pass by the camera in an almost documentary fashion.
This is one of the benchmark Italian movies.
