Almost everyone of us would have passed through the phase of alienation, boredom and loneliness in our relationships and it is this theme that Antonioni explores in a deeply touching and revealing manner in La Notte.
I can understand why Kubrick listed this among his 10 most admired films back in 1963. Brilliant piece of cinema!
