Review of La La Land (2016) by Will L — 25 Sep 2017
"La La Land" is a very good movie. A colorful, vibrant musical that mixes the happy/sad turns of a relationship with the difficulty of making it in Hollywood. It's simultaneously alive with modern flair, yet grounded in the old school traditions of a Gene Kelly musical.
Yet... it's not THAT amazing. It's not 14 Oscar nominations good. Impressive, but overhyped.
