Review of La Haine (1995) by Pandu H — 14 Nov 2009
On the higher end of quality continuum compare to St Elmoâ??s Fire, La Haine also talks about young people trying to find their place in this world. The movie follows three young men from Paris suburb in a 24hr journey talking and quarrelling about being person of color, unemployed, living in a Project, and about nothing important.
During this time they also involve in a string of events that lead to an unexpected climax. The movie lets us study and attach ourselves to the characters and events, and ponder about various social issues when it ends.
Simply brilliant.
