Review of La Dolce Vita (1960) by Anna P — 08 Apr 2008
At the off, the direction and cinematography in this film is fucking amazing. Each shot is absolutely magnificent. However, while it's plain to see that the film is about how dull and lifeless "high society" is, as there isn't a single likeable character in the film, you don't really care what happens to them.
Subsequently, the film is completely charmless. A sincere case of style over substance.
