There are few films seemingly perfect in every regards. In terms of writing, directing, editing, acting, design and scoring, L.A. Confidential easily fits the bill. It could very well be the greatest 50's era cop film if not the greatest cop film period.
And it easily stands the test of multiple viewings; in fact the more I see it the stronger every element becomes.
