Review of L.A. Confidential (1997) by Sergi A — 01 Aug 2011
This is like Citizen Kane except not boring. There's a lot of film schoolers that watch Citizen Kane and say it's a great film, and it certainly is, for a film made over half a century ago. But, luckily, the progress of time has allowed more complex narratives and camera techniques beyond drilling holes in the floors.
It's also improved on the theory of acting. Thus, Kevin Spacey, Russel Crowe and most importantly to me, Guy Pearce.
