A clinic in writing and character development. These are 3D characters with real flaws and motivations that we understand. Also, it's superbly acted. Probably could have filled out all 5 Supporting Actor slots that year.
..though grossly overlooked for Titanic, it's the Best Picture of 1997 without a doubt.
