Review of L.A. Confidential (1997) by Will T — 14 Apr 2012
This was a perfect movie. Brilliant to the last detail. The acting for starters, was phenomenal. Kim Bassinger, Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, David Strathairn, Danny DeVito, Guy Pearce, and James Cromwell all turn in fabulous performances.
Guy Pearce needs to be in more movies. It seems like he isn't in good movies anymore, which is a real shame because he is an amazing actor. But I digress. And the writing was amazing. The script had just the perfect amount of wit and dry humor to keep the movie from becoming too serious and remain a cold, suspenseful thriller.
The plot is filled with twists and turns making it so much fun to watch. I really can't find anything wrong with this masterpiece. It deserved more awards than it got.
