Review of L.A. Confidential (1997) by Gary S — 05 May 2012
Wow, totally did not expect this to be set in the 50s, so that was a bit of a shock starting it up. I guess somehow the descriptions I'd read so far just so happened to never mention that (although it obviously does here).
It was a little hard to accept the super-straight-laced character as a main character you might wanna root for, but he does have some smarts about him. Lots of big names in this film that have done or gone on to do many other big things.
Although surprisingly I haven't really seen Guy Pearce in anything significant since this; interesting that everyone else has done so well.
