Review of L.A. Confidential (1997) by Carlos S — 19 Nov 2012
Adapted from the James Ellroy novel of the same name, L.A. Confidential is a captivating tale of 1950's Los Angeles crime and corruption. The excellent cast is spot on, especially Basinger, who won an Oscar.
The set design and costumes easily draw you into 1950's Hollywood. However, it is Hanson's direction that makes the tangled and complex storyline entertaining and captivating. Beautifully shot, perfectly perfomed, and nearly flawless, L.
A. Confidential is my favorite movie form 1997. It should've won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1997, but was robbed by Titanic (a shitty example of movies and the epitome of suck).
