This film perfectly immerses the viewer in both the 1950s setting and the gritty story played out. It really gets your attention. Its a thriller oozing with police corruption and who knows what lurks around the dark Noir-ish corners.
Its a real showcase for quality cinematography, micro second perfect editing and Direction to die for. Its success lies in a combination of all these things, a cast of amazing merit and a story that creeps up on you allowing the viewer to be in the control seat having to work everything out for themselves.
Its one of those films that withstands the test of time and multiple viewings are not only a pleasure but also add more and more. Highly Recommended.
